GCC to Host Opening Ceremony for Young Pacific Leaders Academy for Women Entrepreneurs Conference

Women entrepreneurs from 24 island nations will arrive on island this weekend to attend the week-long Young Pacific Leaders Academy for Women Entrepreneurs Conference, beginning Monday, April 21, 2025, at Guam Community College.
Facilitated by GCC, the Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) will convene at the Mangilao campus from April 21–25, 2025. The Where Dreams Become Reality conference will feature expert presentations, workshops, networking sessions, and multicultural excursions aimed at enhancing participants’ entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
The Opening Ceremony will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. in the GCC Multipurpose Auditorium and will feature a Parade of Nations with AWE participants.
Welcoming remarks will be delivered by:
- Dr. Mary A. Y. Okada, President, Guam Community College
- Lt. Governor Joshua Tenorio
- Mara Hosoda Su’a, U.S.-Pacific Regional Engagement Specialist
The Keynote Speaker will be Governor Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero, founding President of the Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
The Young Pacific Leaders initiative focuses on key regional priorities identified by youth: education, environment and resource management, civic leadership, and economic and social development.
